Dear Subud USA Members:

 

Greetings from your National Committee!

We are truly grateful for the gifts of the Latihan, which allows each of us to find our own guidance from within and to help us help others. Our aim in Subud is to ensure the Latihan is available for all those who wish to receive it and to encourage a more peaceful, open-minded, and caring world.

We do this by maintaining the presence of Subud in the United States through our local centers, regional membership, and our national office.

 

Your pledge and donations to Subud USA help us stay connected by bringing the National Helpers to your local or regional area, funding youth activities and eldercare, and providing communications such as web, news, and the directory. Your support helps to “keep the lights on” for our national office, which provides administrative services for the entire Subud community. Finally, we support a larger international presence through Subud USA’s contribution to the World Subud Association, Zone 7 (Mexico, Suriname, Canada, the Caribbean, and Cuba) and Subud’s international archives.

While our regions above and their centers support a part of the core national budget, we rely on direct pledges from our generous membership-at-large and Subud businesses or enterprises to fund the remainder.

We are asking for your continued support in this upcoming year through your generous pledges and contributions to help fund the 2016 national budget. We project our 2016 budget to be a small increase of 2.5% to $157,000, and after contributions from our regions and other income sources, this year’s pledge drive needs to raise at least $85,000. This is to fund the remaining 2015 budget and help support our commitments for the 2016 year.

Your Subud USA National Committee

 

 

How will your pledge money be used? Our general fund budget supports the following:

• World Subud Presence and Commitment to the World Subud Association (WSA) ‐ as Subud at the local level helps to support the region, and as the region helps to support Subud USA, Subud USA helps to support the World Subud Association.
• Commitments to Zone 7 ‐ support the development of Subud in Cuba, Mexico, Suriname, and the Caribbean; represent Subud USA in the international Subud community;
• Communications ‐ keeping our organization connected and together through Subud USA News, eBlasts, archives, the SubudUSA.org website and systems, and our directory.
• Work of our National Helpers and National Committee ‐ creating Kejiwaan events at national and regional gatherings; supporting regions, centers, individuals, and affiliates of our national organization. Our helpers, committee, and national office support our Subud USA members through a labor of love given by “in-kind” and on-call volunteer work.
• Maintenance of our National Office and our face to the world ‐ our executive director and the administrative support ensure that Subud USA maintains its legal, official non- profit status. The Executive Director and Office direct the smooth functioning of our central organization, including: administering the National Congress and Gatherings, organizing the many volunteers who help with the national activities, and negotiating and paying the legal and accounting fees, office expenses and rent. The National Office serves as our Central Control to communicate with members, and other activities to keep Subud USA viable.
